Title: Gear Oil Change Oil Interval
Post by: MRG on October 01, 2012, 06:38:57 AM
Guys, is there really a need to change the rear hub oil (gear oil) during the first 1,000 km check up? Appreciate your feedback. Thanks.

bro there is a checklist in your owner's manual on what the mechanics should perform on your first change oil schedule.

Bro per the checklist as indicated in the vespa manual, Granstar should have replaced the hub oil. But they did not and said matagal pa raw bago palitan. I'm confused which to follow.

Yup mas matagal ang oil change ng gear oil / hub oil. Its the same when do gear oil change sa oto minsan nga dagdag lang. Check lang the following if di mo susundin yun sa inverval ng manual, ei. If maitim na ang oil, pg malabnaw na ang oil, check din if may sign ng leak or ngbabawas ng oil. Ano pa ba? :) pro mine was replaced on its 1k and 5k kms.

Motoitalia did. Kasama sa package @ 1k kms, then pina gear oil change ko na din nun 5k kms kasi may sobra pang oil nun last oil change. Pro iba nasa manual :)

Guys thanks for the feedback. Hope we can also hear from the new owners who got their LX from Granstar and just recently had their 1,000 km service check up.

May bad effect ba if sobra o lampas sa max ang gear oil?

Went to granstar today to have my 1k change oil. I had my oil changed, my gear oil changed and filter replaced. With the gear oil, grabe ang hirap pala mag change ng oil for the gear oil because you have to remove the pipe and rear tire of the scoot. Around 30 minutes din inabot for the gear oil.

Yeah. Pero hassle if you have a flat tire and you need it fix on the spot. Though overall, easy naman yung procedure.

Took the scoot for a ride yesterday along EDSA. Too early to tell if there is significant improvement. Will do my tests going to Tanay this weekend and will give you feedback. :)
