Ride. Rest. Repeat.

Edsa again

The anniversary of the 1st People Power Revolution is upon us. Despite the fact that my mom and I, me being the youngest child was tasked to accompany my mom, were in “exile” in Pasig away from Blue Ridge QC, where we stayed, and away from the danger, we were in touch with what was happening. My mom was and still is a Marco loyalist so imagine the conversations during our Sunday dinners during the time leading to the Edsa revolt. It was generally “fun” for me them. Getting to see tanks and soldiers up close. But the moment was not lost to me. I cried the first time I heard “Handog ng Pilipino sa Mundo” being played on the radio and TV, I still get goosebumps when I hear it, honestly. It kind of reminds me that, at least once during my lifetime, Filipinos stood together…….even for a moment, for a common good.

I feel battered and bruised, war torn and weary, but I know the fight must still go on.

Edsa reminds us that the fight is never over.
