Choosing Tyres

A question was raised, again, as to what tyre to purchase.

A general rule of thumb that I follow is try to purchase the best tyre you can afford.

The really good tyres such as Continentals, Michelins, Pirellis and their ilk usually cost more than the “regular” tyres. There are good tyres around which you can get for a fraction of the price, but why gamble with your life? Remember these are the only things touching the ground when you ride. So, why scrimp?

Also another good piece of advice would be to change the inner tubes every time you change your tyres, a little investment (they don’t cost much) goes a long long way, specially if you’re an urban warrior like me.
