Finally changed my tires. Had a new set of Continetal Navigators delivered by Allan (Salamat BOSS) last Friday, I also ordered a couple of new inner tubes to go along with it. I don’t know what came over me to try to change the tires on my own, given that the only tools I had were the stock vespa tools and one really large screwdriver. I spent a good part of the morning trying to split the rims of my Vespa in a desparate attempt to remove the tires from the rims. I tried everything in the book or on the web but alas the only solution I could think of and eventually did, was to bring the darned things to my friendly neighborhood vulcanizing shop. PAK PAK PAK and they were done, 10 seconds flat….no kidding…….i never felt so pathetic in my life.
Anyway after getting my pathetic self plus the pathetic split rims and pathetic old tires home, the only job left to do was to assemble the darned things back together. Assembling the tires has always been a secret pleasure for me. It still amazes me that this seemingly hastily put together contraption actually holds up my Vespa….haha, Italian engineering at it’s best! After a few painless hours of sanding and lightly repainting the rusty parts of the rims and assembling the entire thing, I was done.

I decided to use my hubcaps again since they looked soooo cool, plus the fact that they were just gathering dust in the garage.

Treads look sweet!! Can’t wait to have them properly “scrubbed” and see how far it can go.
Reviews to follow once I have enough KM’s on it na.
