Hi, been wanting to talk to an aficionado rather than a salesman. So here goes: would you recommend a Vespa LX 50 for me? I’m female, 5 ft 105lbs. Most Vespas I’ve looked at seem to big and heavy for me. I just want one for zipping around makati esp. weekends. Do you have an idea how much that would cost, if at all available?

The Vespa LX would surely fit you. I don’t think the LX 50 is as heavy as it’s 150cc big brother. There are a lot of riders here in Manila who are of the same stature as you and most of them don’t seem to have a problem riding their Vespas, even the notoriously tall ET.
If you get the chance, try to sit on one and get the feel of it. If your local dealer can have you test drive one so much the better.
