We had our annual office outing to Boracay this past weekend (Oct. 15-17). It was the perfect opportunity to spend quality time with my family, plus it was my wife’s birthday on the 17th and it was a treat to spend at least half of it on the island. Incidentally this would be Marco’s first plane trip.
We noticed Marco crying on the flight to Kalibo, we asked him why he was crying. He answered, “Miss ko na po ang house natin.” (“I miss our house”)….yah right….I’m sure what he was crying about was the thought of 3 days without the X-Box hihihihihi.
Finally….
Of course the entire family wasted little time in heading towards the beach.
I, however, had a different agenda altogether……a plan was hatched after a couple of dozen bottles San Mig Light to go on an intro dive the next day. Yup SCUBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus…as my dive instructor Jilla so eloquently put it). You see, no one in my family loves the water more than I do, and I was the only one of us not certified to dive. I never had the time to do it and I found the cost just too darned prohibitive. So when a chance to dive on a budget with another greenhorn passed by I just couldn’t resist.
The whole trip was fun for everyone. The kids had a heck of a time in the water while we grown ups, aside from chasing the kids around, had a grand time walking along the famous boracay path and haggling with the not-so-famous boracay tricycles. As the vacation ended, I did some snooping around for good deals around the island just in case the family has the itching to come back.
